"Happy 5th Birthday, Fenris!"

Five years ago to the month, in August 2008, the first FWB publication - the 1st. edition of Maranatha - hit Amazon in print form. Back then, 'Fenriswulf Books' was nothing more than a domain name and a Blogger template, designed to advertise the fact that Chaz Wood had released his first full-length novel. Five years down the line, and we've produced a rather surprising array of works - from graphic novels to comics, and fantasy, occult, cyberpunk and thriller prose. In his sideline, Chaz has also produced over 160 strips in his zany and surreal Geekz weekly tech-support webcomic.

In that time, we've also gotten over the disappointment of our local Borders closing down, saw the e-book arise from a new-fangled novelty to a whole new form of publication loved by millions, experimented with Smashwords.com and produced well over half a million words of published text across more than a dozen titles, incorporating dozens of unique illustrations, book covers and web design. In 2011, we started our hybrid text/art 'graphic fiction' format, which is still a bit ambitious for the current limitations of the Amazon platform, but we can see it coming into its own before too long.

Who can say what the next five years might hold?

A visual chronology of FWB cover art - from the tentative text-only 'Maranatha' to recent ambitious illustration.
But from a visual design perspective, this very site and the works which it promotes have come on leaps and bounds, as Chaz's (and Frang's) cover artwork has successfully reached an increasingly wider audience. And to celebrate five years of still being in business, we'll soon be offering the entire FWB Amazon Kindle back catalogue for free - watch this space for more info nearer the time.

But this isn't just about us. It's also thanks to all our readers, fans, collaborators, commentators, friends, and supporters, past and present. We couldn't have made it this far without you. And while we're taking note of landmarks - this happens to be our 175th post. Whew!

Guest Post Submission Guidelines

We're very happy to accept guest posts. The only requirements we have for guest posts on Fenriswulf Books' blog pages are:

1) on-topic posts only: i.e., articles relevant, and of interest, specifically to writers (especially self-published or indie authors) - ideally regarding the creative processes of producing fiction, editing, character, plotting, e-publishing, observations and opinions on the publishing industry generally, experiences of Kindle/Smashwords/Apple, traditional publishing, self-promo and marketing advice for authors (but see *2* below), inspiration & 'writers' block', cartoons/comic books, illustration & design, or creativity in general;

2) absolutely no promotion or reviews of third-party products or services: the only exceptions being other self-pubbed or indie writers that you may be enthusiastic about, or charitable websites or totally free resources online or elsewhere devoted to helping other writers, e.g via interviews, book giveaways, etc. This includes hyperlinks and images. Author book review sites are acceptable as long as they offer free reviews (whether alongside paid-for reviews or not).

3) if in doubt, just ask.

Other than that, feel free to drop us a brief summary of possible posts and we'll let you know by return.
